new athletic sites
The meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 24 at the Administration Building on N. Main Street.
Board members are slated to speak on the possiblity of joining with Washington Township and Total Soccer in creating athletic venues at 30 Mile Road east of M-53.
Board discussions regarding the site have included the possibility of an athletics or facilities bond, though figures have yet to be revealed.
The 200 acres of land is owned by Washington Township. About 80 acres was purchased by Total Soccer to build 21 fields, a lighted turf field and possibly a 5,000-seat stadium.
The township's plans include a recreational center with pools, gyms and other amenities.
