MGTV on air 24/7 until Oct. 9

Michigan Government Television (MGTV) is offering its cable television viewers across the state temporary additional programming hours.
Now until 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, MGTV will offer expanded hours programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Expanded hours will include coverage of expected longer House of Representatives and Senate sessions as they rush to meet the Oct. 1 deadline to approve the 2009-2010 State Budget, and the Michigan Supreme Court opening week of session, Oct. 6-7.
"MGTV is charged with bringing Michigan's citizens non-partisan, unbiased coverage of state government during a time of economic uncertainty in Michigan," said Bill Trevarthen, executive director of MGTV. "The actions of our elected officials affect all individuals and businesses in the state, and we are committed to providing as much transparency in the legislative process as we can. Our partners in state government and the cable industry have made this expanded coverage possible.
MGTV, a non-profit 501 (c)3 corporation, is a public affairs initiative of Michigan's cable television industry and is made possible by the financial support of Comcast, Charter, Bright House, Broadstripe and Time Warner Cable. MGTV reaches more than 1.5 million homes, schools and offices served by cable television.
