New Ray Twp. Senior
Program director chosen

      LuAnne Kandell of Ray Township was permanently appointed Ray Township Senior Program director by the Ray Township Board of Trustees during its regular board meeting on Nov. 7.
       The position became vacant in August of this year, and in order to ensure continuation of services and coordination of senior activities, Kandell was appointed temporary director at the Sept. 18 meeting.
       Clerk Paula Artman read letters that the township received from local seniors who applauded the work that Kandell has been doing with them since she was temporarily appointed the position.
       "We can tell by the notes from the seniors that she is doing a good job," said Artman.
       The senior program director's salary is reimbursed to the township through Community Development Block Grant funds, said Supervisor Charlie Bohm at the meeting.
       Kandell also serves as Ray Township deputy clerk. There is no conflict with her holding both positions, stated Artman at a previous board meeting.
       Friendship Meeting will be the theme for the upcoming Senior Social/Lunch at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27. Senior members have been asked to invite a friend from outside of the group to take part in the activities.
       During the first week of December, nurses of Bay Nursing, will be on hand at the senior meeting to take blood pressure and assist with health education.
