RCS seeks action
on federal cuts

Romeo Community Schools has joined other districts in arguing against funding cuts at the federal level.
The Board of Education passed a resolution on Nov. 5 asking Congress to stop an across-the-board cut to Title I and IDEA funding. If approved, the cuts would result in a loss of $1.6 million (8.2 percent) for the Romeo district's budget.
Nationwide, the cuts would eliminate more than $4 billion in funding. To stop the cuts, Congress must amend the Budget Control Act of 2011.
