The Village of Romeo expects to finish a significant rehabilitation project with funds to spare.manhole project Village Clerk Marian McLaughlin reports that the Department of Public Works is working to finish rehabilitating 100 manholes by this coming summer. A portion of the project is funded through $83,000 of re-programmed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. McLaughlin said the hope is that all the funds will not be utilized and will be re-programmed for other communities to use. The project is mandated by the Department of Environmental Quality to reduce the amount of storm water that enters the sanitary sewer system. The project must be done by Nov. 13, 2013. |
