A Richmond Township woman has died as a result of a traffic collision in Lenox Township.Observer Staff Writer The Macomb County Sheriff's Office reports that Angelina Maskey, 22, of Richmond Township was pronounced dead at McLaren-Macomb Hospital after being involved in an accident on Gratiot south of 30 Mile Road. The sheriff's office states on Nov. 16 around 6:30 p.m. a Ford Escort driven by Maskey was traveling southbound and a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Gratiot. Reports indicate Maskey used the gravel shoulder to pass another driver at a high rate of speed, and upon re-entering the roadway lost control and spun into the northbound lane. The Corolla, driven by a 49-year-old Port Huron woman, collided with the Escort. The Corolla driver is expected to make a full recovery. Preliminary investigations show that alcohol may be a factor in the collision. |
