RPD takes part
in take-back day

The Romeo Police Department is taking part in a national effort to keep prescription medication from being abused.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27, the department is asking residents to drop off unused prescription pills to the station. No syringes or liquids will be accepted. The department has averaged 25 to 30 lbs. of unused pills in past collections.
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a way of collecting and disposing of medications. In the past five years, the effort has disposed of 2 million pounds of medications.
