Senior programMacomb County Community Services Agency, in partnership with Grace Episcopal Church in Mount Clemens, is offering Healthy Eating for Successful Living in Older Adults, an evidence-based program.

The program is open to older adults interested in learning about nutrition and how lifestyle changes can promote better health. It takes place in May and June.
Participants will learn goal setting and brainstorming strategies to increase bone- and heart-healthy food choices. Healthy Eating for Successful Living in Older Adults uses the U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines, MyPlate, with the goal to improve nutrition and physical activity needs of participants. It was developed by Hebrew Senior Living in partnership with Harvard University.
There will be six 2-and-a-half-hour sessions and a restaurant outing after the last session. The sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on May 24, 31, and June 7, 14, 21, and 28, with the restaurant outing date to be determined. The sessions take place at Grace Episcopal Church, 115 S. Main St. in Mount Clemens. There is a suggested cost share of $10 for program participation.
