MCD TREE FUNDRAISER UNDERWAY
The 64th Annual Spring Tree, Shrub and Plant Fundraiser at the Macomb Conservation District is underway. They are offering more than 65 species of trees, shrubs and plants, some even up to seven feet tall. All transplants are sold bare-root and are suited for every type of landscape or property, even container gardens. Pre-orders are recommended to get the best seleection. All remaining stock will be sold during the pick up days at the MCD office on April 25-26. The office is located at 72955 Van Dyke in Romeo. HANDBELL CONCERT AT CHURCH

       The First Congregational Church in Romeo will host guest artist Kristine Stout, handbell soloist from Joybell, in a concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 4. Entitled Joy Un-Speak-a-Bell, the free concert will accept a good will offering to support Angel's Wing Transitional Housing Program for a Famiy With Children. AAUW FILM DOCUMENTARY

       The Romeo American Association of University Women (AAUW), an advocate for fair human rights, will feature a film documentary on the epidemic of rape within the military at their next meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 17, at the Romeo Community Center on Morton Street. The investigative documentary, The Invisible War, follows young servicewomen who were raped and then betrayed by their own officers when they came forward to report. The public is welcome to attend.

HELP FOR DELIVERABLE FUEL USERS

       Macomb County Community Services Agency (MCCSA) provides assistance for residents who meet income guidelines and demonstrate a need for deliverable fuel. Eligible fuels, which must be the primary source of heat for the home, include fuel oil, propane, wood, coal, kerosene and heating fuel pellets. Applicants must provide proof of household members and total household income. For information call (586) 749-5146.
