Varsity softball team
has 8-2 overall record

      Senior Victoria Shaddock led off the sixth inning with a home run that tied the game at five, and senior Rachael Gabrielson drove in the go-ahead run with a single followed by a run-scoring triple by Melissa Staelgraeve to give the Romeo High softball team a thrilling 7-5 come-from-behind MAC Red victory Friday afternoon at St. Clair.
       On the day, Staelgraeve went 2-for-3 with one run scored and two RBIs for Romeo (8-2 overall and 2-0 MAC Red). Kayla Noch was 3-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, and Gabrielson had two hits in four at-bats.
       Senior right-hander Shelby Laseke (4-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing five runs on eight hits.
       Romeo, 11; Dakota, 2:
       Wednesday, April 18, senior shortstop Alex Szajna went 4-for-5 with five RBIs to lead the Lady Bulldogs in a MAC Red Division opener.
       Winning pitcher Laseke allowed two runs on six hits.
       Staelgraeve had three hits, one RBI and scored three runs; Gabrielson had three hits, one RBI and scored three times, and center fielder Taylor Waters finished with three hits and one run scored.
       Romeo, 6; Richmond, 2: (game 2)
       Monday, April 16, at Richmond, Staelgraeve had three hits including a home run and two doubles, and two RBIs, to lead Romeo to a split of the doubleheader. Chelsea Malburg and Briana Becker had two hits apiece. Laseke was the winning pitcher.
