Boys' tennis team wins
MAC White tourney

Observer Sports Writer

      Led by senior Alex Vedolich, who set a new school record with 87 wins and counting, the Romeo High tennis team won the MAC White tournament last week.
       The Bulldogs, which also won the dual portion of the title with a 7-0 record, finished with 53 points; St. Clair came in second place with 49, Anchor Bay was third with 43, L'Anse Creuse North, 39; Dakota, 32; Stevenson, 28; Ford, 25, and L'Anse Creuse, 19.
       Romeo will now move on to host Regionals tomorrow. Those that qualify will advance to the State finals Oct. 19 and 20.
       Results:
       Singles Finals:
       One singles: Vedolich, R, d. Nathan Peer, LCN, 6-1, 6-2.
       Two singles: Nicholas Farr, AB, d. Conner Sloan, D, 7-5, 6-2.
       Three singles: John Hachim, SC, d. Stefan Tumey, R, 6-2, 6-0. Four singles: Michael Awe, R, d. Rob Nalon, LCN, 6-1, 6-1.
       Doubles Finals:
       One doubles: Jake Ranshaw-Josh Ranshaw, SC, d. Jacob Rumschlag-Tyler Bogdanski, R, 6-1, 6-4.
       Two doubles: John Holowaty-Scott Conzin, SC, d. Lucas Borovica-Wayne Potter, AB, 6-1, 6-3.
       Three doubles: Kenny Herbert-Brandon Lawrence, SC, d. Connor Kowalke-Eddie Pollock, R, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7).
       Four doubles: Filip Sindbad-Alex Blair, AB, d. Connor Winkler-Ben Dombrowski, SC, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8).
