to 2nd place in MAC

The Romeo High School volleyball team won both games last week to put the Lady Bulldogs in sole possession of second place in the MAC White division at 5-1, one game behind first place Stevenson (6-0) who they play this week.
The girls beat Anchor Bay last Thursday in five games, 25-20, 25-12, 25-17, 15-25, 15-12.Gia Milana had 24 kill and four blocks. Karlie Kelly had 17 kills and two blocks. Claire Fraeyman had five kills and six blocks. Jodie Bosheers had nine kills and two blocks and Elizabeth Betzing had five kills.
"This was an intense match that consisted of two teams fighting hard to steal the momentum,'' said Romeo Coach Stacy Williams of the hard fought battle with Anchor Bay. "Sets 1-4 had many momentum switches and set five was a grudge match. I am very proud of my girls tonight for playing tough until the end. Ali Bellas protected the floor and lead our defense. She has a contagious spirit on the court and she brings out the best in her team."
Earlier in the week they beat Grosse Pointe South 25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 26-24 on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Milana had 18 kills with two aces. Kelly had nine kills and two aces. Bosheers had eight kills and four blocks. Betzing had four kills and Fraeyman had two kills and six blocks. Bellas played great defensively as well as Kelly and Milana.
