The Romeo High School girls' swim and dive team celebrated its winning season with an end of the year banquet at Addison Oaks Banquet Center.winning season at banquet The team gathered with family and friends to share team and individual accomplishments. The team was the MAC White division champion, finished first at the Marysville Relays, was second at the L'Anse Creuse Relays and fourth at the County Meet. Several awards were passed out at the banquet. Senior Elizabeth Rawlings was selected by her team as the most valuable team member. Sharing most improved honors were freshmen Emily Rawlings and Brooke Corey and Sophomore Maggey Jacobson. Freshman Natalie Krzemecki was named rookie of the year, and sophomore Jessica Houghton was selected most dedicated. The 2012 captains, Kirstin Meiner, Amanda Rossol, Elizabeth Rawlings and Sarah Blasius, announced the team captains for 2013. The team selected juniors Lauren Krzemecki and Olivia Cali for next year's captains. Varsity letters were awarded to the team. Earning varsity awards were Blasius, Emily Bradley, Samantha Bratkowski, Cali, Corey, Anna Fredal, Kelsey Hobbs, Linzi Hobbs, Houghton, Jacobson, L. Krzemecki, Meiner, Nina Pete, Elizabeth Rawlings, Emily Rawlings, Gabreilla Robbins, Rossol, Elissa Silverthorn, Payton Tengler, Maggie Todorovich and Isabel Tsafantakis. Earning junior varsity awards were divers Bridget Bieniek and Danielle Vollen. Academic awards were given out as well. The team had a cumulative team average of 3.75 this season. Team members having a season GPA of 3.5 or above earned a certificate and a scholar T-shirt. They were Blasius, Bradley, Bratkowski, Cali, Corey, Fredal, K. Hobbs, L. Hobbs, Houghton, Jacobon, L. Krzemecki, N. Krzemecki, Meiner, Elizabeth Rawlings, Emily Rawlings, Robbins, Rossol, Silverthorn, Tengler, Todorovich and Tsafantakis. |
