On Saturday, the Bulldogs hosted the Romeo Duals and were a very respectable 3-2 on the day despite giving up four voids (24 points) before the matches even started.
The Bulldogs (12-7 overall) beat Port Huron 45-30, Highland Park 54-18 and Richmond's B team 31-22 and lost to Yale 43-30 and tournament winner Grand Blanc 48-27.
"When we first looked at the weigh-in sheet we thought we could be in for a long day,'' said Romeo Coach Jim Cali. "We were missing some key guys for a variety of reasons, but when all was said and done, we actually did pretty well considering everything. Of the 10 guys we had on varsity, five of them went undefeated on the day and the other five wrestled tough. We started only three seniors with the rest being freshmen and sophomores, so we matched up our young guys with their young guys for the most part and did really well."
