Freshman team unbeatenThe Romeo High School freshman basketball team remain undefeated after a 57-39 win over Stevenson on Friday, Jan. 4.

Mitch Heimbuch led in scoring with 15 points. Lucas Schimon had 10 points, John Houbeck added nine, Brad Tanner scored seven points and Paul Hurley scored five points. Brendan Banach added four points. Andrew Medaugh and Jared Ozella each added three points and Ben Mayfield added one.
"The team needs to become more aggressive on defense and have patience on offense," Coach Marvin Cushingberry said. "This will be reinforced at practice."
The team beat Utica Ford (60-45) on Dec. 19, and Lake Orion (54-47) on Dec. 20.
Hurley led in scoring against Ford with 24 points and eight rebounds. Heimbuch had eight points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Noah Soave added six points. Houbeck scored five points and had four steals. Mayfield and Tanner each added four and Medaugh added three. Christian Ayala, Banach and Schimon added two points each.
At Lake Orion, Hurley led with 16 points and seven rebounds. Schimon had 15 with seven rebounds and seven steals. Heimbuch had 12 and six rebounds. Medaugh added five points, Tanner had three, Soave had two and Josh Bilski added one point.
