Girls' swim team comes inThe Romeo High School girls' swim and dive team, which finished as the MAC White Dual meet champs, did an incredible job this past weekend at the MAC White League meet, as they came within 1-1/2 points of the top spot, finishing behind L'Anse Creuse 249 to 250.5 points.

Rounding out the meet were Ford with 214.5 points, Fraser with 209 points, Stevenson with 183.5 points and Marysville with 136.5 points.
At the meet, the swimmers competed on Friday to earn a position to swim on Saturday. On Saturday, the top 12 finishers in swim and dive events earned points and the top six finishers also were awarded medals.
Highlights of the meet included record breaking performances by sophomore Natalie Krzemecki who took first place in both the 100 yard freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle, setting new team records in both and earning all league honors for both events.
Junior Maggie Todorovich had record breaking performances in both the 100 yard breastroke, where she took first with a new team record and also earned all league honors. Her 2nd place finish in the 50 yard freestyle also set a new Romeo record. Krzemecki and Todorovich also teamed up with Emily Rawlings and Lauren Krzemecki to take first, set a new Romeo record and earn all league honors in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Krzemecki, 8th, Olivia Cali, 2:38.55, 11th, Anna Fredal, 2:47.73; 50 yard freestyle: 2nd, 25.45, Todorovich, 7th, Maggey Jacobson, 27.5, 12th, Linzi Hobbs, 28.65; Diving: 2nd, Elissa Silverthorn, 311.45 points, 6th, Sophia Tsafantakis, 281.05 points, 10th, Bridget Bieniek, 207.75 points, 11th, Carlie Bailey, 199.80 points; 100 yard butterfly: 11th, Cali, 1:12.19, 12th, Fredal, 1:21.02; 100 yard freestyle: 1st, N. Krzemecki, 554.45, 6th, Rawlings, 1:00.11, 8th, Jacobson, 1:01.70; 500 yard freestyle: 4th, Houghton, 6:00.66; 200 yard freestyle relay: 1st, N. Krzemecki, L. Krzemecki, Rawlings, Todorovich,1:45.94; 100 yard backstroke: 5th, L. Divers Silverthorn and S. Tsafantakis next advance to the diving regionals, which will be held next week. Swimmers will be attending a last chance meet this week, to see if they can qualify and advance to the state meet.
