Midnight Madness sales
for 6 hours only on Friday

Christmas shopping in downtown Romeo promises discounts and hometown fun during the 2012 Midnight Madness savings day, Friday, Nov. 30 from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Great deals get better if you decide to wear your pajamas to the hometown event.
For instance, discounts during the 2012 Midnight Madness hours at Connelly's Creations will get you 20 percent off all Christmas items. Those in their pajamas will get an extra 10 percent off.
"It's really so much fun, last year everyone really enjoyed getting into pajamas for extra discounts," said Connie Connelly, the store's owner. "Some girls get into big, funny robes and wear big, fuzzy slippers when they come in and one year a lady came in with her teddy bear, had a funny robe on and she had cold cream all over her face."
Romeo's Christmas Midnight Madness sale has been going on for 12 years.
"This is a fun night for the whole family," said Connelly.
Sue Kane at Kane's Town Hall Antiques also participates, but takes it a step further.
"We're following the theme this year of `A Christmas Story,'" said Kane. "This means in our store we will be having a drawing for a Red Ryder BB gun. Friday night we'll be taking the tickets and we'll do the drawing on Saturday at our Christmas Open House."
Those wearing pajamas to Kane's will receive a free vintage gift.
The Urban Merchant located at 164 South Main Street will also be participating in the Midnight Madness sale.
The gift shop sells furniture, wall art, pillows, floor mats, table top and paper products, candles and numerous holiday items. On Friday, they will be offering 20 percent off all Christmas items and 15 percent off any item in the rest of the store.
"We did this the last two years and I have to say it just gets better each year," said Kevin Bryzk, store owner. "One reason I think it is getting better is that more people are catching on. Last year a lot of people were wearing camouflage pajamas and someone even wore baby pajamas with the footsies and the back opening."
Outside the Tarr & Associates Wealth Management business they will be having a fire warmer/bonfire for shoppers to stop by if they get chilly. Located at 167 South Main Street next to Little Caesar's Pizza, the company offered a bonfire last year and it was very popular.
"We'll have it out in front of the building again, weather permitting," said Zina Costa from Tarr & Associates.
