Market opens May 3 The Imlay City Farmers' market will open the season at the corner of Main and Third streets in Imlay City beginning Thursday, May 3, with new hours, improved services and a variety of vendors. "The new hours should make our market more accessible to everyone," said Kim Marrone, DDA director. The market will accept EBT or Bridge Cards, with Double UP Food Bucks for market-goers with an EBT card, thanks to a grant from the Four County Community Foundation. The program will match up to $20 in purchases when a recipient uses their EBT card to purchase Michigan grown produce. "The market will honor the Senior/Market Fresh Program as well, so we can continue to reach out to the community and promote local foods," Marrone said. Vegetables, flowers, herbs, pine and spruce trees and homemade crafts are some of the items available each week. For information visit www.icdda.com or call the market manager at (810) 724-1361. |
