Sharing Tree
program begins

Volunteers with the Samaritan House are seeking generous residents to play the role of Santa Claus for local families.
The Samaritan House's Sharing Tree program has begun, with 16 churches in the area setting up Christmas trees full of tags. Each tag has the Christmas wishes from 300 families. Residents can take a tag and fulfill the wish, then return the tag and gift to the church.
Gifts will be sorted Dec. 12-13 at St. John Lutheran Church, then handed out on Dec. 15-16 and delivered on Dec. 17. Last year's collection saw 2,546 given to families, with 418 volunteers assisting.
       For more information, call (586) 752-4103 or (586) 255-3729.
