Simpson Park Camp to host
women's weekend retreat
Simpson Park Camp will hold its Women's Weekend Retreat, "The Daughter of The King," on Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1, at the park.
The weekend getaway is for women and girls 16 years of age and older.
Attendees will enjoy a distraction-free weekend in the Victorian era woodland setting of the historic Simpson Park Camp Meeting Grounds. " The Daughter of The King" will feature guest presenter, Marli Brown, who travels full-time speaking, singing, and encouraging women and audiences nationwide in their walk with the "King of Kings."
"Who am I, really? The question troubles the best of us," said Brown, "Identity in Christ? It sounds like a reassuring idea, but it's pretty abstract. I encourage all the women in the area, for one weekend, to discover the priceless, tangible realities of who they are in Christ."
Brown has been at the park before. She and her husband, Randy, led the worship music for Family Camp last summer. Brown reaches people through her music.
"Simpson Park is one of my favorite places to present," said Brown, "I can't wait to be back there."
Camp Director John Grenfell agrees.
"What an awesome opportunity for women from the surrounding communities to fellowship together and be refreshed," he said. "I know after hearing Marli they will walk away confident in who they are; pursued and loved by the King."
This girls' weekend includes all meals and camp-style hotel/lodge accommodations, as well as four seminar sessions with Brown, worship and fun.
Registration is $65 per person before May 10, $75 per person after May 10. Register online now at www.simpsonparkcamp.org/events.
