Society to open
exhibit on lumber
Learn about the impact lumbering had on Romeo and one of the worst fires to scorch Michigan.
Beginning this month, the Romeo Historical Society is opening its new exhibit about the lumbering industry in Michigan at the Romeo Arts and Archives Center on N. Main Street.
The exhibit features lumbering tools, information about local inventors and lumber barons and the Thumb Fire of 1881 that claimed the lives of 300 Michiganders.
The Romeo Historical Society can be reached at (586) 752-4111.
