Local police
join take back day

Residents looking for a safe way to dispose of unused prescriptions can do so at the Romeo and Richmond Police Departments.
On Oct. 26, the department is taking part in the National Take Back Initiative day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency. Citizens can drop off unused medications between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at either police station. Needles and liquids will not be accepted.
This will be the fourth year the Romeo Police Department has participated, and has collected an average of 25 pounds to 40 pounds of unused drugs each year. The take back day encourages people to rid themselves of unused medications to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
