5K Rabbit Run and Bunny Hop set for Easter weekend on the Trail

Former Apple Blossom Run gets a new name
      The Macomb Orchard Trail will once again invite the public to a springtime race.The 5K Rabbit Run and Bunny Hop will replace the former Apple Blossom Run and is scheduled for April 19, Easter weekend.
       This 5K Run/Walk will begin and end at the Washington Township offices traveling through town, jumping on the Macomb Orchard Trail and hopping back. Runners of all levels are welcome to participate.
       The Bunny Hop will celebrate Easter for the kids with a running race complete with Easter baskets for each participant. The springtime race has always been to inspire people to get back on the trail, said John Crumm, race director.
       "The Macomb Orchard Trail is a great benefit to the people of this community and surrounding areas," he said. "This race is a great opportunity to get out on the trail and enjoy."
       Interested participants can pre-register online at active.com. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and the Bunny Hop at 10 a.m. Parking is at the Washington Township Offices. Runners will receive a T-shirt, awards, entertainment, door prizes and race snacks. For more information on the Macomb Orchard Trail visit online www.macombgov.org
