Chesney honored
at Monday meeting

The Dec. 14 Board of Education meeting for Romeo Community Schools was the last for President Dale Chesney.
During the meeting, Superintendent Nancy Campbell presented Chesney with an award and two books that reflect his interests. "Between the Lines" by Jonathan Alter was chosen because he enjoys politics. The second book, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis, was chosen because of its personal meaning to him. "That book touched me, it inspired me to read," he said of it when he first read the book as a child.
Vice President Michael Stobak said a few kind words about Chesney.
"I would just like to thank you for your leadership, guidance and mentorship," he said. "I appreciate your leadership through some very difficult meetings."
Chesney was pleased with the books and said "It was a pleasure serving with you . . . I'm sure we're in good hands to move forward."
