DPW picks up
pickup at $26K

The Romeo Department of Public Works (DPW) is snagging a good deal for a truck replacement.
The department was given approval to replace a 1997 truck with a new 2012 pickup truck at a cost of $26,118, as of April 16.
Tim Metz, DPW supervisor, said the department will purchase the truck from Imlay City Ford, which provided the lowest quote for the vehicle. Other quotes were around $34,000. Metz said the purchase is within the department's motor pool budget.
Additionally, due to mild weather, the DPW's maintenance spending is down by $34,000 when compared to last year's costs.
