Sprucing up at
by KIMBERLY SCHERERThe fencing and gate at the Washington Center Cemetery on 29 Mile and Campground roads will be getting a sprucing-up this fall.
Observer Special Writer
Washington Township Clerk Kathy Bosheers said during an Oct. 3 Board of Trustees meeting that the plan will replace the front portion of the fence. The 244-foot length portion will match the fence that was installed a few years ago.
As for the gate, Bosheers said they will be utilizing their water and sewer department employees to save costs and take it down to be cleaned and repainted. The entire cost of the project is estimated at $10,482.
The board voted to approve the new fence work and gate maintenance not to exceed $10,500 and to amend the budget as they were short $2,500 from what was originally budgeted.
Bosheers said next year they would like to fix the fence at the cemetery at 31 Mile Road and a painting project to the cemetery at Powell Road. She said this is just long overdue maintenance work.
