State police looking for
suspect wearing spandex
by CHRIS GRAYHe may wear the same fabric that superheroes enjoy, but a man wearing spandex is suspected of criminal activities in northern Macomb County.
Observer Staff Writer
The Michigan State Police is determining whether a man wearing full-body silver spandex is linked to multiple breaking-and-entering incidents in the townships of Armada, Bruce, Ray and Richmond.
Lt. Mike Shaw said the suspect was captured in surveillance video at one of the sites of a home break-in on Sept. 5. What appears to be a white male is seen in the video donning spandex and a backpack.
"We're not sure if he is responsible for one or all or none of the break-ins," Shaw said. "If he is not involved with anything, we would like to speak with him so we can eliminate him as a possible suspect."
State police didn't provide a list of the stolen items, but did say the break-ins took place over the summer and targeted both homes and vehicles.
Anyone with information about the incidents or the suspect is encouraged to call the state police at (248) 584-5740.
