Suspect wanted for
by CHRIS GRAYThe Macomb County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect responsible for robbing a pharmacy by holding a hostage at knifepoint.
Observer Staff Writer
Around 11:47 a.m. on Sept. 19 a white male described to be in his 30s entered the lower level of the Cornerstone Medical Group building in Washington Township. The sheriff's office learned he sat in the waiting room briefly before putting his arm around a female customer.
He then brandished a knife in his right hand and pointed it at the woman's mid-section before demanding that the pharmacist give him Vicodin. The man fled as soon as he was handed Vicodin by the pharmacist.
Deputies reviewed surveillance tape from an adjacent business and determined the man was driving a gold or champagne-colored older-model Ford Explorer.
The suspect was described as "heavy-set," perhaps 250 pounds, and approximately 6 feet tall.
He was last seen wearing khaki-colored shorts, a white shirt and a black knit cap. A dark-colored scarf concealed part of his face during the robbery. The knife is said to have a wooden handle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Macomb County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at (586) 307-9358.
