Armada man charged for
sexually abusing children
by CHRIS GRAYAn Armada man has been arraigned after two child victims reported that he sexually assaulted them.
Observer Staff Writer
Bruce Jaynes, 51, of Armada Township is being charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of child sexually abusive activity for manufacturing child pornography.
A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 15 at the 42-1 District Court in Romeo.
The Michigan State Police reports the investigation began when the Michigan Department of Human Services referred a case of two minor-aged children reporting that they were sexually abused by Jaynes from 2005 to 2009.
The investigation revealed that Jaynes had child pornography involving himself on his computer, leading to an arrest at his home without incident.
Jaynes was arraigned on Oct. 3 at the 42-1 district Court and is being held on $350,000 bond. The criminal sexual conduct carries a mandatory minimum of 25 years imprisonment, while the child sexually abusive activity charge is a felony punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment.
The Michigan State Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact them at (248) 584-5773.
