in skydiving accident
by CHRIS GRAYA skydiver has died from injuries he received from an accident during a jump in Ray Township.
Observer Staff Writer
The Michigan State Police (MSP) report that Kenneth Bernek, 34, of Waterford has died from injuries sustained during a skydiving jump on Oct. 12 at the Ray Township Airport
The MSP said at 6:22 p.m. Bernek started to fall out of control before striking a tree and colliding with a woman standing on the ground. Both were transported to a local hospital by emergency services.
Prior to his death, Bernek was reported as being in critical condition, while the woman, a 53-year-old from Ray Township, sustained non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released.
The MSP said Bernek's next of kin has been notified and the incident is still under investigation.
