Village, countyVillage of Romeo officials are determining the extent of upgrading the traffic signals at the four corners.
talk traffic signals
The Macomb County Department of Roads is sharing plans with village representatives on what it will do to improve traffic and pedestrian signals at the St. Clair and Main Street intersection. The preliminary designs show black mast arms and signals similar to those found at 25 Mile Road and Van Dyke.
The upgrades would also include new pedestrian crossing signals with a countdown along with infrared cameras to monitor traffic flow.
The plans have yet to be finalized, but county officials say it could be installed in the late spring or early summer. The Department of Roads would pay for the project since it owns both streets. A typical upgrade costs upwards of $120,000.
