Romeo woman's body found in Ray Township
by CHRIS GRAYState police are investigating the death of a missing Romeo woman after her body was found in Ray Township on March 27.
Observer Staff Writer
The Michigan State Police responded to a report at 3:20 p.m. of a dead body spotted on Teller Road near 28 Mile Road. Investigations revealed a person walking down Teller Road saw the woman lying next to a SUV stuck in a ditch and called 911.
Responding paramedics determined the woman was dead on the scene. Police identified her as Anne Lumetta Burns, 83, of Romeo. Her family reported her as missing to the Romeo Police Department on March 25 after she failed to return from an income tax appointment.
Police said there are no indications of suspicious activity or criminal actions related to the incident. Investigators are awaiting a report from the Macomb County Medical Examiner's Office.
