Enbridge to consider deal

Enbridge Energy and Macomb County are working out an agreement to save trees on 36 Mile Road.
At a meeting held at the Bruce Township Hall on April 2, representatives from Enbridge, Macomb County, Bruce Township and residents discussed the fate of trees along a three-mile right-of-way on 36 Mile Road where Enbridge will install an oil pipeline.
A tentative agreement said Enbridge would save 11 large trees, replace 150 trees and provide a $18,000 beautification grant. Macomb County and Enbridge have yet to approve of a final agreement.
If approved, the agreement would also allow residents on the north side of 36 Mile to meet with Enbridge and discuss landscaping improvements. Enbridge would also restore the road with limestone.
