Village AT&TThe process for installing a new tower on village property has moved forward.
The Village of Romeo Board of Trustees voted unanimously on April 21 to begin negotiations with AT&T so the communications company can install a 150-foot tower on land near the Community Center on Morton Street.
A lease agreement between AT&T and the village will come before the board for approval.
The Village Planning Commission recommended the tower for approval at its April 10 meeting with the condition that AT&T provide documentation that existing towers in the area could not be used for co-locating its antenna. Commissioners also require a black vinyl-coated fence around the site as part of the construction.
