Trustee Rinke to
resign this month

A longtime member of the Village of Romeo Board of Trustees is stepping down this month.
Trustee Russell Rinke has informed the board that he will be moving from his home in Romeo and can no longer serve on the board. In light of this, he has not participated in budget workshops held this month and will resign. He has been on the board for 10 years.
Village Clerk Marian McLaughlin said Rinke's vacancy will be filled by an appointment made by the board to serve the remainder of this year. His position, along with the village president, clerk, treasurer and three trustees will be on this year's ballot.
Rinke's resignation is expected to be discussed at the May 19 board meeting. Those interested in applying to fill the vacancy can contact McLaughlin at (586) 752-3565.
