DTE reports 165,000 outages

Severe thunderstorms on July 27 caused widespread outages throughout southeast Michigan.
As of 11 a.m. on July 28, around 165,000 DTE Energy customers had no electric service due to wind gusts of up to 70 MPH and lightning that struck the area.
Macomb County saw 32,000 residents without power. DTE anticipated the majority of customers would have services restored by tonight, July 30.
Crews were working 16-hour shifts around the clock to restore service, with 300 line workers from Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin in on Monday and Tuesday to assist.
