Pulled fire alarm results in charge

An apparent prank may end up costing a Richmond youth's family more than $600.The Washington Township Board of Trustees agreed June 1 to bill the family as well as a church group for the costs incurred by the Township Fire Department when the youth pulled the fire alarm at the Township Municipal Building May 8.The family had been attending a church study group in a meeting room in the building.
Cost for the department to respond to the false alarm was $615.05. Shortly after the false alarm, the department received a legitimate call for a structure fire in the northern end of the township, according to fire officials.
