AN ACE DONOR. The Romeo Area Kiwanis Club donated checks to three local non-profit organizations with revenue collected by the club's first-ever Aces of Spades Progressive Raffle. At the club's Nov. 19 meeting, Kiwanis President and Romeo Police Chief Greg Paduch presented checks for $750 to the following, from left: Dave Pyrce for the Starkweather Arts Center, Juli Graser for the Romeo Kids Foundation and Frank Hatton for the VFW Post 2052. "Thanks to all the citizens in the area who participated in giving, this is where your money has gone to," Paduch said. To the right of Paduch is Frank Czajka of Thee Office Pub and Cookery, where the Kiwanis Club helds its progressive raffle. The raffle was based on a 52-card deck, with a winning ticket holder pulling an envelope. If the envelope contained the ace of spades they won half of the jackpot, with the rest going to the club.
